Before the dawn of time, Io, the creator God, plucked a world out of the void—a void known as The Astral Sea, and named this land Vol'Antia: The Glistening Jewel of the Gods.

The Prophecy of Eight foretells of "mere mortals drawn from across the vast realms of man, rising up to protect the land of Vol'Antia from an impending doom."

These were lies when first written, sermonized across the realm by devout occultists in service to the dark one, Vol'Tar, while he hangs chained in torpidity within the planet's core.
